After the September Equinox, the nights grow longer as we transition deeper into the waning half of the Solar year (in the Northern Hemisphere). Falling directly opposite the March Equinox, the fruitful growing season is reaching its end, and begins to wither and recede. It’s the second harvest festival of the growing season (sometimes called Mabon); another reason to show gratitude for the Bounties of Nature. It also serves as a reminder for us all to prepare for more rest and reflection in the quiet energy of the coming months.🌾
As the Wheel of Time turns and the Sun continues on to the second half of its annual ecliptic, it’s time once again to honor not only the beauty and abundance of the light, but of the intention and grace to be found in the shadows as well. It’s all about the balance.☯️
By connecting with the rhythms of nature, and offering thanks to the Sun and the Earth, to the Light and the Shadows, we enter into this next season with a balance of Gratitude and Hope to see us through.🍂
