Time to Celebrate the Harvest Day of Lughnasa at Mid-Summer
SEVENS WEEKS/CROSS-QUARTER DAYS
It’s Week 20 (7♣) on the EHc. Today is Thursday, August 6, 2026 Gc (15 July on the EHCc, 4C|7C). It’s a Cross-Quarter Day, falling half-way (about six-and-half weeks) through the second quarter of the EartHeaven calendar (EHc), the Season of Clubs/air.
All Cross-Quarter Days occur during a Sevens Week, one per Quarter/Season (15 March, 15 July, 15 October, 15 December). They each mark a time to pause and reflect on the passage of time and the seasons.
In this instance, the Sevens Week signals the Sun’s position along its ecliptic path, currently half-way between the June Solstice and the September Equinox.
CELEBRATING LUGHNASA
Lughnasa/Harvest Day is an ancient festival, traditionally celebrated on or about August 1 (in the Northern Hemisphere). It’s the perfect time to pick some flowers or berries; hike a hilltop (towards the Sun), bake some bread, or a fruit pie, celebrate with family and friends with feasting and merriment!
