… and we are transitioning to the fourth and final season of the EHc year — the Season of Spades/earth (Dec/Jan/Feb) — at the December Solstice, happening this Saturday, 21 Dec, 2024 Gc.✨
This astronomical event heralds the arrival of winter in the Northern Hemisphere. With the North Pole now at its farthest-most point away from the Sun, we (in the Northern Hemisphere) observe and experience the shortest amount of daylight in the current year and, after a brief pause where the Sun appears to “stand still” (the Latin meaning for the term solstice), the days gradually begin to lengthen once more.☀️
LOOKING FOR THE LIGHT
Through the Ages, while awaiting this “turn of the seasons,” people all over the world have kept their home fires burning on this night, with festivals, tributes, feasts and holidays to honor and celebrate the return of the Earth, from darkness into light.🔥
It’s a perfect time to reflect on the notion of rebirth and renewal, and to realize that, from every corner of the globe, we are ALL searching for the light.🕯️
